Hi Opt 2 Count System
The Hi Opt 2 Count is an advanced card-counting system that is a little bit complicated than the Hi Opt 1 Count and is used mostly by the professional blackjack players. We recommend you to use it only in case you have already mastered the Hi Opt 1 Count because it is quite difficult and provides only the small extra edge for the player.
How Hi Opt 2 Card-Counting Works
This card-counting system is based on counting the cards in the game that have the special values of 0, -1, +1, -2 and +2. What is more, it states that the player must take much focus at the table. As you understand, Hi Opt 2 system may be difficult to learn and use as the cards have a wider range of values and for most players it is not very easy to recollect all of them during the game. According to the Hi Opt 2 Count system the cards are counted as follows:
| Card | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | Jack | Queen | King | Ace |
Count | +1 | +1 | +2 | +2 | +1 | +1 | 0 | 0 | -2 | -2 | -2 | -2 | 0 |
This is a balanced card-counting system because when you count all the cards in the deck according to the values given above you will end up with 0.
Though the Aces are counted as 0 in Hi Opt 2 Count system they must be considered in your game strategy as they in fact influence your decisions at blackjack table. The players usually use different things, such as chips, to track the Aces. There are variations of Hi Opt system that count the Aces differently but we do not consider these rules as they are too complicated to follow. Remember, if something goes wrong when you count the cards just use the Basic Strategy recommendations.
