How to Play Vegas Strip
blackjack. The name of the game derived from the name of Las Vegas Boulevard traditionally called “Strip”. Las Vegas Strip is the most popular place in Las Vegas as most of the largest hotels, casinos and resort properties are situated here.
Vegas Strip Rules
As the rules of Vegas Strip game are very similar to the rules of regular blackjack we offer you to familiarize with the game basics that briefly describe the gameplay.
- The game is usually played with 4 standard decks that are shuffled before each card dealing.
- The dealer peeks at his hole card in case his face up card is an Ace or 10.
- The dealer must stand on all 17s.
- The player is allowed to Split up to 3 times.
- The Aces can be Split only once.
- The hand consisting of the split Ace and 10 is NOT a Blackjack.
- The Double Down is allowed after splitting the Aces.
- The Double Down is allowed on any two cards.
Splitting Rules
According to Vegas Strip rules in case the player chooses to Split a pair of Aces and is dealt a card valued as 10 he doesn’t hold a Blackjack but simply the hand with the count of 21. In addition, the Aces cannot be resplit. After the player Splits the pair of Aces he receives only one card to each separate hand and must Stand. As it has been already mentioned, the player is allowed to Split up to 3 times max (creating 4 hands).
Double Down Rules
At Vegas Strip the Double Down bet amount is usually equal to the original bet size. The player is not able to Double Down after splitting any pair except the pair of Aces. Moreover, the player cannot choose Double Down option after he is dealt Blackjack.
Insurance Rules
Insurance option is offered in case the dealer’s face up card is an Ace. Insurance does not cover the hands produced by splitting and after the Double Down only the initial bet is covered by Insurance. Remember, that the player wins the Insurance bet in case the dealer ends with Blackjack, otherwise the Insurance bet is lost.
Payouts
Any Winning Hand – 1 to 1
Insurance – 2 to 1
Blackjack – 3 to 2
Push Hand – original bet is returned
